How much map fits on your wall?

Choose the map view first, then think about the wall. A dense citywide composition and a close view of a few streets ask different things of the same sheet of paper.

Check the smallest thing you want to read.

Look at a small street or a long neighborhood name in the preview. If it is already hard to pick out, try a closer crop or a larger print. A larger sheet gives the same composition more physical room; it does not add missing map data.

Measure the wall before choosing a frame.

Cut paper to the listed dimensions or mark the corners with removable tape. Step back to the place you normally view that wall. The listed sizes describe the print; a frame adds to its outside dimensions.

Portrait and landscape change the crop.

A long island or north-to-south street pattern can suit portrait. A wide river bend may need landscape. After changing orientation, check the edges again: the places visible on the paper can change.
